The North American publisher Viz Media has announced in a press release that it will publish Hiroshi Yamamoto's novel The Stories of Ibis as a part of its Haikasoru science fiction novel imprint. The story takes place in a world where humans are a minority, and the android Ibis tells a storyteller she meets seven stories about human/android interaction. The novel will be released on April 20. Yamamoto was part of Group SNE, the cadre of creators that developed the Record of Lodoss War franchise; Yamamoto personally played the character Deedlit in the fantasy role-playing game sessions that formed the core original story of the franchise.
Viz also confirmed that Loups-Garous, the virtual reality werewolf novel by Requiem from the Darkness' Natsuhiko Kyōgoku, will now be released on May 18 after being originally slated for January. Slum Online, the virtual-reality novel by Yoku Wakaru Gendai Mahō and All You Need Is Kill author Hiroshi Sakurazaka, was originally slated for a March 2010 release but will now be released on April 20. The Next Continent lunar adventure by The Lord of the Sands of Time's Issui Ogawa is still slated to be released on May 18.
