Cencoroll Science-Fiction Anime Dated for 2009 Release
posted on by Egan Loo
The Excite Anime News site has confirmed that Sony's Aniplex production company will release Atsuya Uki's Cencoroll anime in 2009 — more than two years after another firm, Anime Innovation Tokyo, first revealed the science-fiction project. Cencoroll's story begins when a giant monster sends a town's citizens into a panic — except for a girl named Yuki and her acquaintance Tetsu. Tetsu happens to have his own strange creature named Cenco as a pet. Another boy appears in the town and controls the monster threatening the people, and the stage is set for a battle.
With Cencoroll, Aniplex has agreed for the first time to back a project that was animated almost entirely by one person. The company launched an official website on Wednesday, the first day of Tokyo International Anime Fair TAF 2009. The website has the same trailer that Anime Innovation Tokyo presented in 2007, although Aniplex presented a newer trailer at TAF 2009. According to Aniplex, uki wrote, designed, directed, and animated the project singlehandedly. Aniplex has not clarified the release venue or format of the anime's premiere.
Thank you to Yivyn for the news tip.
