Skip Beat's TV Ad Streamed in Japanese, Chinese
posted on by Egan Loo
TV Tokyo's official Japanese website for the anime adaptation of Yoshiki Nakamura's Skip Beat! shōjo manga has begun streaming a television commercial on Monday. This same television commercial with Chinese subtitles is being streamed by the My Cartoon website in Taiwan. The anime has been licensed by Top-Insight International Co., Ltd. to premiere on Taiwanese television on October 10 — just five days after TV Tokyo will premiere the program on October 5.
Director Kiyoko Sayama (Angel Sanctuary, Prétear, Princess Tutu, Vampire Knight) is working with the studio Hal Film Maker (Angel Sanctuary, Prétear, Princess Tutu) on this project. The story centers on a teenager named Kyōko who followed her childhood friend Shō to Tokyo as he pursues his show business dreams. Despite playing housekeeper for Shō, Kyōko overhears Shō dismissing her as a boring nobody. Furious, Kyōko vows to also become an actress and defeat Shō.
