Zeorymer Omega Manga Revives 1980s Robot Title
posted on by Egan Loo
The November issue (on sale on September 19) of Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine will launch Hades Project Zeorymer Omega, the newest update of the Hades Project Zeorymer robot manga and anime from the 1980s. Comic Ryū already serialized a three-installment manga continuation called Hades Project Zeorymer Saishūshō (The Final Chapter) last year. Morio Chimi (Bio-Booster Armor Guyver) created the original 1983-1984 manga and Saishūshō, but he will be working with the artist watariU on the new Omega manga.
Director Toshihiro Hirano (Magic Knight Rayearth, Dangaioh, Iczer-One), scriptwriter Noboru Aikawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Martian Successor Nadesico), and character designer Michitaka Kikuchi (Nadesico, Silent Möbius) created a four-volume Hades Project Zeorymer anime series from 1988 to 1990. Central Park Media released this anime in North America. The franchise's profile in Japan has risen in recent years with its inclusion in the popular Super Robot Wars role-playing game series. That has led to a definitive edition of the original manga (pictured at right) last year and a Blu-ray Disc edition of the anime next month.
