Pizza Hut Pitches Oshii's Sky Crawlers Film in Japan
posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: Pizza Hut of Japan announced its promotional campaign with The Sky Crawlers, the latest anime film from director Mamoru Oshii (Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell, Avalon). Between July 31 and September 7 (or while supplies last), people who order a medium-sized pizza will get a pizza box with a Sky Crawlers design created by the film's character designer Tetsuya Nishio. Ten Pizza Hut Club email subscribers will receive a special pen with a "floating" fighter image inside. Among those who order their pizzas online, 15 people will win recording scripts, staff jumper jackets, tumblers, Pinky:st. figures, fighter models, deformed plush fighter dolls, and The Sky Crawlers Wii game. Some of the items will be signed by Oshii or Nishio. The campaign will also offer free computer and phone wallpaper.
The movie opens in Japan this Saturday. Pizza Hut has tied its campaigns with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Evangelion, and Macross Frontier in the past.
