Dr. Koto Moves to Big Comic Original After Young Sunday Ends

Creator Takatoshi Yamada faces former magazine home's closure on July 31
Author Takatoshi Yamada will be moving his Dr. Koto's Clinic medical manga to Shogakukan's Big Comic Original magazine after the publisher ceases publication of Weekly Young Sunday magazine. The last issue of Weekly Young Sunday will ship on July 31. The namesake of the manga is a disgraced surgeon who finds a new home on a backwater island where he is the only doctor. Another manga artist, Birdy the Mighty's Masami Yuuki, voiced his displeasure at the little notice or support that Young Sunday authors received as the magazine plans its closure. Dr. Koto's Clinic was made into a hit live-action drama series, and Birdy the Mighty will be animated for the second time this year.
