Pop Japan Travel Promotes Tour with Writing Contest
posted on by Mikhail Koulikov
To promote its anime/manga-themed Cold Steel Tour of Japan, the Pop Japan Travel agency is holding a story-writing contest with a theme of "Who Wants To Be A Vampire?" Participants must write a short story of no more than 1,000 words describing their first night as a vampire. The winner of the contest will receive signed copies of the Vampire Hunter D novel and manga, as well as several more books from Digital Manga Publishing, including the first volumes of the Trigun and Berserk manga, and Pop Japan Travel's Essential Otaku Guide travel book. Two runners-up will also be selected. Contestants may post drafts of their stories on the ToonZone.com forums, but they must email their final entries to Pop Japan Travel by December 15.
The Cold Steel Tour will include stays in Tokyo, Kamukura, and at the Sapporo Snow Festival, as well as trips to the Ghibli Museum, a cosplay cafe, and the anime goods store Mandrake. The deadline for registering for the tour is also December 15. A unique feature of this tour will be a special visit to Studio Pierrot and meetings with Vampire Hunter D's creator Hideyuki Kikuchi and manga artist Saiko Takaki.
