Madeleine Rosca, one of the runner-ups for the First International Manga Award, has posted the first three parts of her report on her Japan trip and awards ceremony. Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs sponsored both the competition and a ten-day trip for the winner and the three runners-up. Separately, Seven Seas Entertainment announced that it ordered a second printing of Rosca's award-contending manga Hollow Fields. Seven Seas had made 25,000 copies during the first print run.
