Funimation Acquires Baldr Force EXE Resolution Anime

Funimation public relations manager Jackie Smith reports that the company has also licensed the BALDR FORCE EXE Resolution cyberwar video series in addition to the two titles (Ouran High School Host Club and Sasami: Magical Girl Club) which were announced onsite at Otakon 2007. The game-based anime series combines cyberterrorism intrigue with robotic mecha. Returner's Takashi Yamazaki directs Satelight (Noein, Aquarion) on this four-part video series writen by Hiroshi Ohnogi (Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Eureka Seven).
The story revolves around a hacker-for-hire named Tōru whose "Steppen Wolf" team tries to infilitrate FLAK, the United Nations anti-cyberterrorism unit. The discovery of Steppen Wolf's hacking leads to the team leader's death and Tōru's coerced employment as a government "white hat" hacker to avoid punishment. Tōru must now counter serious cyberterrorists like the Fei Dao group while tracking down who killed his former leader.
