Geneon Gets Best Independent Award from Retail Group

Trans World Entertainment Group, the corporate parent of Suncoast, Sam Goody, Coconuts, Strawberries, Wherehouse, and FYE chains of mall-based music and video stores, has named Geneon Entertainment the Independent DVD Vendor of the Year for 2006. Other anime companies and non-animation studios were considered for the award, but Geneon was ultimately chosen the winner primarily because of the methods it used in driving catalog sales.
