Sequel to popular manga to move from Morning to Big Comic Spirits
This spring, the sequel to the popular series Black Jack ni Yoroshiku ("Say Hello to Black Jack") by Satou Shuho will be serialized in a different manga magazine. The original series ended its run in the magazine Morning, published by Kodansha, in 2005. During the 4 years that the manga appeared in Morning, the series was made into a live-action TV Drama on the TBS network and the original 13 volumes of the manga sold over 10 million copies.
The sequel, entitled Shin Black Jack ni Yoroshiku ("New Say Hello to Black Jack") will be serialized in Big Comic Spirits, published by Shougakukan. A change in publishers, especially for a popular series, is extremely rare in Japan. Shougakukan has yet to announce when the new series will start, but has said that more details will be printed in the next issue of Big Comic Spirits.
