Edu-Manga, Project X and Bambi and the Pink Gun - Not your typical manga
Digital Manga Publishing has announced three new manga series to be released in 2005.
Bambi and the Pink Gun is described as an "alternative manga series" with an art style more in tune with American "underground" comics than typical Japanese manga.
Project X, based on an upcoming anime TV series, is an inspirational, non-fiction manga series following the ordeals of successful entrepreneurs. Subjects include the founders of the Japnese 7-11 chain (who were so successful they bought out the American parent company), the designer of the original Datsun 240 Z and the inventor of the "Cup of Noodles."
Finally, Kodansha's Edu-Manga (educational manga) is a series of illustrated biographies narated by popular manga characters such as Astro Boy. The first five Edu-Manga will be about Helen Keller, Albert Einstein, Mother Theresa, Beethoven, and Anne Frank.
