Tokyopop in Fortune Small Business: revenues and future plans
Tokyopop and Tokyopop CEO Stuart Levy are profiled in a cover story in this week's issue of the magazine Fortune Small Business. The article describes the history of Tokyopop and mentions company plans for the future. These include entering the manga market in Germany and Great Britain, increasing the number of titles drawn and written by American artists, and selling original manga in Japan. According to Levy, in 2003, Tokyopop's manga revenue was almost $40 million, and he projects that over the next five years, annual revenue will increase by up to 50%.
