Lions Gate & Artisan Entertainment Merge

Two large video distributors choose to merge to better compete with other brands.
Lions Gate Entertainment agreed to a full merger with the large home video company Artisan Entertainment. This merger brings together some well known anime titles under one company. Lions Gate is the main home video distributor for Voltron. Artisan Entertainment distributes the classic anime title Speed Racer, through its "Family Home Entertainment" label. No word from either company about future plans to distribute more anime titles.
