There have been two NPR broadcasts this past week discussing the first ever Academy Award (Oscar) for best theatrical film, which could be given out in the coming edition of the Oscars.
The first segment, a 4 minute excerpt from All Things Considered, features Leonard Maltin from Entertainment tonight. An avid animation fan, and an Anime fan, Maltin discusses the Oscars themselves.
The second segment, a 6 minute excerpt from Weekend Edition, talks about the current popularity of animation with entertainment critic Elvis Mitchell.
Neither segment makes any referrence to Anime.
