More A-kon details announced

A-kon staff announced more guests yesterday, most notable of which was Bruce Campbell, best known as Ash in the Evil Dead/Armies of Darkness movies. Another new announcement was Christopher Russo, creator of the "Babylon Park" parody South Park/Babylon-5 hybrid.
Details regarding art submissions for the A-kon playing card deck were made available: files must be TIFF format in 300 DPI and no bigger than 8 1/2" x 11". Entries on ZIP disks are acceptable (you'll be able to reclaim this disk at the con), and there is a hard deadline of March 1, so get your submission in now! (Unfortunately, directions for submission were not included.)
A-kon also announced a pre-registration deal of $5 off admission for parties of 10 or more. Submissions need not all be on one check, but need to be in one envelope. Cut-off to take advantage of the deal is 30 days before the con, and the tickets will be mailed to you.
The con also has a new domain name, a Christmas gift from con regulars Rodney Caston and Kevin Patterson. While the old web site is still up, a re-tooled version will be made available shortly at www.a-kon.com.
After too many years of choices of music being a determining factor in the judging of music videos, the A-kon contest is now restricted to one song: "The Twist" by Chubby Checker (MP3's are available on the A-kon web site). Creativity and editing will be judged, and entries must be submitted by May 5.
