Anisong Top 100 Program Crowns 'Snow Halation,' Tiger & Bunny Themes

NHK's TV special Countdown Live: Anison Best 100! hosted by Nogizaka46 member Sayuri Matsumura aired on Saturday and announced the winners of the station's popular vote. While Neon Genesis Evangelion's "Cruel Angel's Thesis" opening topped a similar poll last year, followed by tried and true favorites from Sailor Moon, Touch, and Dragon Ball Z, NHK's results leaned more recent.
The top choice is "Snow Halation" from the second season of Love Live!, followed by "Bokutachi wa Hitotsu no Hikari" from the Love Live! movie. In third place is "Orion wo Nazoru" from the Tiger & Bunny TV series. Both anime franchises are also rating highly on NHK's Best 100 Anime Ranking.

The television special covered the top 100 choices. Love Live! had a total of 10 songs make the cut.
Voting is still open for NHK's "100 Best Anime of All Time" poll. The poll will close on March 31 followed by a TV special with results in May. Tiger & Bunny, Mr. Osomatsu, Madoka Magica, and Code Geass are holding strong in that poll.
