Yuri!!! on Ice! Character Designer Releases 1st Artbook at Comiket

The figure-skating anime Yuri!!! on Ice! wrapped on Wednesday, leaving behind a huge fandom in its wake. The show features character designs by Tadashi Hiramatsu, whose design work dates back to Gainax's His and Her Circumstances and more recently Parasyte -the maxim-. In his over two decades of animating, storyboarding, and directing, his work has never been collected in a published format until now.
Fans of Yuri!!! on Ice can seek out Hiramatsu Tadashi Animation Gashū (The Art of Tadashi Hiramatsu) at this month's Comiket 91 convention. The book collects artwork from both animated works and novels like Einsatz and Guardian as well as planning materials and illustrations Hiramatsu created for his personal website.
The book's cover features main characters from His and Her Circumstances, Yuri!!! on Ice!, FLCL, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, and Parasyte -the maxim-. All together the book contains over 200 pages of artwork. It will be on sale at the Anime Style booth #3915 for 4,000 yen (US$34). It will also bundle the Hiramatsu Tadashi no Usui Hon booklet as a Comiket-exclusive bonus.
