The Pokémon Sun & Moon video games introduced their reimaginings of classic Pokémon (and Professors) with regional variants. Monsters like Meowth, Vulpix, Rattata, Cubone, and Raichu have all adapted to the tropical climate whether its learning to surf or just get really fat.
Pokémon Centers in Japan are adding three of the Alola form Pokémon to its line-up of stuffed characters on December 23. Alola Marowak, Raichu, and Meowth along with Mimikyu and Bewear will go on sale for 1,500 yen (US$13) each.
The retail locations are already selling the games' starters, the Alola variant Vulpix, Rockruff, Pikipek, Togedemaru, and Komala.
Nintendo shipped more than 10 million copies of Pokémon Sun & Moon worldwide for the initial shipment. The games set a new record for most copies shipped for the Nintendo 3DS in their initial shipment. Nintendo had revealed last month that the two games are the best pre-selling games in the company's history. The games' "Special Demo Version" is also the most downloaded demo in the Nintendo 3DS eShop's history.
