Xenosaga Artist's 'Steve Jobko' Featured On A T-Shirt
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Xenosaga and Infinite Stratos 2 mechanical designer CHOCO's drawing of the late Apple founder Steve Jobs is being printed on a t-shirt. "Steve Jobko" reimagines the famous company founder as a girl (-ko is a diminutive in Japanese usually denoting a feminine name). The image is based on a popular photo of jobs, and is the same used on the cover of his authorized biography.
The shirt went on sale at the online ILLUS-T shop but is already sold out.
CHOCO originally drew the image for the cover of a Steve Jobs tribute doujinshi titled "Chocolate Apple" in 2011. You can check out a few pages of the doujin at CHOCO's official website.
The story of Jobs' life is chronicled in Walter Isaacson's authorized biography, which in turn is being adapted into a manga by Thermae Romae creator Mari Yamazaki, and a planned live-action film with a script by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing, A Few Good Men). A second manga adaptation, Steves, by Ume will launch in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior magazine on June 27.[Via Hachima Kikou, Kai-You]
