One Piece Digital Watch Displays Artwork from Series
posted on by Bamboo Dong
Pre-orders are currently open from jewelry and collectibles manufacturer Imperial Enterprises for the One Piece Digital Archive, a watch that displays one of 48 images from One Piece every hour.
The watch uses an active matrix EPD screen, a similar kind in the one used in Japanese electronic dictionaries. It's preloaded with 48 images, featuring characters from the Straw Hat Pirates, to characters like Ace and Shanks. Every hour, the screen will change to another image.
The watch also features a 32-city world clock, solar-powered charging, radio time synchronization, an automatic calendar, and a power-save mode. Buyers can also customize the watch with five different watch faces, all of which are included with the purchase. The back of the watch is numbered and etched with The One Piece logo. The watch comes in a custom display box.
The product is limited to 3,000 units and retails for 59,800 yen ($608). It's being sold through Imperial Enterprises' online shop Premico, as well as other retailers, and is expected to ship in late October.
Imperial Enterprises also has other anime-themed watches available, from series such as Dragonball Z, Detective Conan, Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and others.
