posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The official website for the anime adaptation of Chizuna Nakajima's bishōjo gag comedy manga Angel's Drop (Tenshi no Drop) announced the series' cast on Wednesday.
Rei Matsuzaki (Oda Nobuna no Yabō's Niwa Nagahide) will star as Botan, Mai Goto (Phi-Brain - Puzzle of God's Airi Mizutani) will star as Shinobu, and Hiromi Igarashi (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!'s Hina Takanashi) will star as the angel Un.
Sachika Misawa (Accel World's Kuroyukihime) and Yuiko Tatsumi (Little Busters!'s Mio Nishizono) will also lend their voices as Momoko and Hibachi, respectively.
The story centers on Botan and Shinobu, two childhood friends who enroll in St. Azumaria Girls' Academy. Their encounter with an "angel" named Un-chan lead to strange things happening in their lives. The manga openly describes itself as covering yuri, hentai, omorashi, and other elements of fetishism not usually seen in shōnen or shōjo manga.
The anime studio AIC Frontier (Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan: Eigo de Tatakau Mahō Shōjo) is producing the anime with director Kōji Itō (Megane na Kanojo, Geisters - Fractions of the Earth). Kazuhiro Nasu (key animator for R-15, Strike Witches 2, Amagami SS) is handling the character designs.
The anime will premiere on AT-X on May 12.
