An insert in the sixth volume of Wataru Watari's Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. (My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected) light novel series is revealing the main cast of the GJ-bu (GJ Club) anime on Tuesday. The television anime adapts Shin Araki's light novel series of the same name.
According to the insert from Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint, the main cast members are:
- Hiro Shimono as Kyōya Shinomiya
- Maaya Uchida as Mao Amatsuka
- Yume Miyamoto as Megumi Amatsuka
- Suzuko Mimori as Shion Sumeragi
- Chika Arakawa as Kirara Bernstein
Araki launched the original GJ-bu moe light novel series as the "first four-panel novel" in 2010; each of the nine volumes contains 36 short stories about high school students, and each story is only four pages long.
Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Blue Exorcist, Sword Art Online) is directing the anime at the studio Dogakobo (Yuruyuri). Hideaki Koyasu (Akikan!, Brighter than the Dawning Blue) is in charge of the series scripts, while Miwa Ōshima (C³, Koihime Musō) is adapting Aruya's novel illustrations for anime.
The first announcement for the anime was printed alongside an advertisement for the GJ-bu Chūtō-bu spinoff series. However, the anime is now refered to simply as GJ-bu, the title of Araki's original light novel series.
The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in January. Japan's Nippon Television (NTV) network began streaming a 48-second promotional video for the series in October.
