AKB48's Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 Sings Shin-chan Opening
posted on by Egan Loo
Watarirōka Hashiritai 7, a sub-group of the all-female idol group AKB48, will contribute the song "Kibō Sanmyaku" (Hope Mountains) as the new opening theme song of the Crayon Shin-chan television anime series. The song will premiere with the episode airing on November 4.
Mayu Watanabe, a self-professed anime fan and a member of Watarirōka Hashiritai 7, said that she always watched the anime when she was little, so she was really overjoyed when she heard that her group will sing its opening theme song.
The television anime is celebrating its 20th anniversary next year. "Kibō Sanmyaku" is a song in the tradition of hopeful, spirit-lifting Showa-era songs of the 1975-1995 era, such as "Aoi Sanmyaku" (Blue Mountains).
The song will later go on sale on November 30. Watarirōka Hashiritai 7 (and its previous incarnation Watarirōka Hashiritai) contributed theme songs for both Fairy Tail and Blue Dragon: Tenkai no Shichi Ryū.
