U.S. animated series parodies H.P. Lovecraft creation with Totoro song

The "Mysterion Rises" episode of the popular American animated series South Park featured a parody of the theme song from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's film My Neighbor Totoro on Wednesday. In the episode, the dark lord Cthulhu from horror author H.P. Lovecraft's mythos is summoned thanks to an oil spill. The character Cartman dresses as a supervillain, forms an alliance with Cthulhu, and is taken for a flying ride to the Totoro tune.
