Throughout the 2nd episode Sakura uses a Saiyan Scouter to read the feminine power level of Karin.

In ep 9 at 3:35 Sakura makes a Pokemon reference. She says should your starter be a fire or a water type. The fire type is a salamander, Charmander and the water type is similar to a turtle, Squirtle. These are the starters for the original first generation games.

In ep 9 at 3:39 Sakura references Japanese warships. However, Botan confuses this with the Neon Genesis Evangelion characters Asuka and Rei.

In episode 2, around 3:29 there's a picture resembles Masamune Date from the game/anime Sengoku Basara.

In episode 4, at about 14:09, the silhouette of the group called “Hagishirabe Eleven” that appears on screen is a parody of the main characters in the football manga / anime “Captain Tsubasa” (キャプテン翼).

In episode 4, at about 14:11, the silhouette of the group called “Hagishirabe Juuni Shinshou” that appears on screen is a parody of the Twelve Heavenly Generals (十二神将) who, according to some buddhist denominations, protect Bhaiṣajyaguru (भैषज्यगुरु); the buddha of healing and medicine.

In episode 4, at about 14:19, the silhouette of the man called “Hagishirabe Thirteen” that appears on screen is a parody of the famous assassin Duke Tougo in the manga / anime “Golgo 13” (ゴルゴ13).

In episode 5, at about 00:24, Sakura starts singing the song “Erlkönig”. That song was composed by the Austrian composer Franz Schubert in 1821 as the musical adaptation (or “lied”) of the 1782 poem “Der Erlkönig” written by the famous German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The poem depicts the death of a child assailed by a supernatural being; the Alder king or "Erlkönig".

In episode 5, at about 12:27, Claire mistakes the novel “Ginga Tetsudou no Yoru” (銀河鉄道の夜 or Night of the Galactic Railway) with the short story “Hashire Melos” (走れメロス or Run, Melos). The Run Melos story was written in 1940 by Dazai Osamu and is a retelling of an ancient Greek legend about the unwavering friendship between Melos and Selinuntius (or Damon and Pythias in the original). The Night of the Galactic Railway was written by Miyazawa Kenji in 1927 and is about the strong friendship between the two main characters; Giovanni and Campanella.

In episode 9, Sakura mentioned the two warships, Ayanami and Shikinami. Both warships are belonged to Fubuki class destroyer used by Imperial Japanese Navy.

In episode 9, at about 03:39, Sakura mentions Ayanami and Shikinami as an example of cases where people have to choose between 2 options. Natsuki then comments that the choice in that case depends on whether you prefer Kuudere personality or a Tsundere personality. The two choices Sakura was referring to are the names of the 11th and 12th Fubuki class destroyers that were built for the Imperial Japanes Navy following World War I. Both of them played a substantial role in the Japanese war effort during World War II. Natsuki, on the other hand, was referring to the characters Ayanami Rei (綾波レイ) and Shikinami Asuka Langley ( 式波・アスカ・ラングレー) from the 1995 anime Shinseiki Evangelion (新世紀エヴァンゲリオン). Ayanami had a Kuudere personality while Shikinami had a Tsundere personality.

In episode 9, at about 06:21, Botan starts reciting lines from the 1932 novel Guskou Budori no Denki (グスコーブドリの伝記) written by the famous Japanese poet Miyazawa Kenji (宮沢 賢治).

In episode 12, The girls of the Go-Home Club are watching TV and saw the awarding ceremony of a soccer player named "Christiano Messi". His name is referred to the two superstars of Spanish Football League La Liga, Christiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and Lionel Messi of F.C. Barcelona.
