In Episode 15, Squad Leader Hanji talks to Eren about two captured Titans, "Sonny" and "Bean." Their names and the background story she tells is the story of a 16th century Scottish clan led by the mythical Sawney Bean, correctly described in the anime as a clan who captured and ate travelers who wandered into their territory.
