Anime News Network 2006 Holiday Logo Contest
Anime News Network is proud to announce the 2006 Holiday Logo Contest. As with year's past, from December 20, until January 1, ANN will replace our usual logo with a more festive one, appropriate for the holiday season. And, as with past years, we're inviting our readers to submit the holiday logo.
This year's contest is sponsored by FUNimation Entertainment, ADV Films and Geneon Entertainment. The winner will be able to chose any currently available box-set from each company (one box set from ADV Films, and one box set (or thinpak) from Geneon and a third boxset from FUNimation), subject to availability (see below).
The logo needs to have the words “Anime News Network.com” and underneath, (in smaller writing) “Wishes you all the best for the holiday season.” Feel free to use Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other cultural holiday of the season in your drawing, however you see fit!
To be eligible, a submitted logo must be exactly 360 pixels wide by 170 pixels tall (keeping in mind that the lower right section will be covered by ads on some browsers, and not covered on other browsers, depending on screen width). An example of the layout is below. The file must be submitted in PNG format.
It's very important that your submission not only look good on its own, but also look good in conjunction with the rest of ANN's website. The logo will be displayed with the new default layout (which can be seen here).
Looking for a little inspiration? View last year's entries here, 2004's entries here and 2002's entries here. (There was no contest in 2003).
E-mail antries, as an attachment (no links to files hosted elsewhere please) to [email protected] with the subject "ANN Holiday Logo" - the subject is important. All e-mails with other subject lines will be discarded as spam. Entries are due no later than 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time, December 19.
Available FUNimation Box Sets: Blue Gender, Kiddy Grade, Tenchi Muyo GXP, Fruits Basket, Spiral, DBZ, DBGT, Yū Yū Hakusho, Gunslinger Girl, Lupin Movie Box Set 1 and 2.
Fine Print: Anime News Network (ANN) reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time. ANN reserves the right not to select a winner should no appropriate entries be received. All entries become the property of ANN. Contest is open to anyone, however prizes will only be shipped to addresses in the Continental USA and Canada. Contestant names, e-mail and mailing addresses will not be given out to any one and will be erased when the winners have been confirmed. Non-winners will not be contacted, spammed or harassed in any way. We reserve the right to retroactively add new rules when and how we see fit.
