Stalking laws are weak in Japan. Yukiho seems cursed.

I wonder how the stalking laws in Japan compare to the US's. Hope they find the perp(s) who did this.

She better disguise herself whenever she gets out. It sux, but I can't find better way to avoid stalkers.

How very unfortunate. Here's hoping the perpetrators get caught and receive their maximum punishment.

As I recall, this was the exact reason Yukiho's last voice actor retired. I hope Asakura isn't forced out of the game for similar reasons.

This is very unfortunate, I hope she doesn't quit. I feel sorry for her.

Does anyone here know why? Is it because the fans like the voice actresses and coincidentally went too far, or is it specifically because they voiced that character that they were threatened and stalked? As a mostly new-ish fan of iDOLM@STER, this is the first time I heard about this. D:

woah that is creepy as hell. to force someone to move not just once, but multiple times is pretty ridiculous. come on, japan.
at the least it's good to hear that she is persevering through it though. it would be a damn shame if such a nice person was forced to quit doing what she likes because of some weirdo who can't differentiate 2D from 3D. |

Yukiho is a cursed role, but being ambushed by Otaku that's a first but not good as Japan has a lot crazy stabbies these days (you can't even drive a cab without being stabbed now) usually they are spied on or followed.

Hmm i wonder what the deal is with Yukiho (the role?). I'm a new fan to the series (only finished it start of December) so i can't say i was aware of all this going on.
It's kind of creepy for sure. I suppose this is one down side to the more lets say 'famous' roles in life though, sure it's easy on the net to say how you admire actresses/actors, VA's ect but the reality is i suppose slightly different. I hope something gets done (perpetrator(s) captured). Really though it's sad to see people act this way in modern society. Hope things keep going well for her and hope her fans keep calling support to her and help her through. |

The sad truth is that stalking is quite universal, no bound by a particular media or culture, or even level of fame. My sister was in a minor reality TV show, and even she got stalked for a while. I wouldn't like for people just to say "Oh, Japan", and think that this isolated to otaku.

I never understood that whole "I'm buying your products, thus I'm allowed to own you/dictate your schedule" mentality that causes most stalkers to, well, stalk.
Another thing is that while stalking isn't limited to otakus or anime and manga lovers, the media loves to scream every time it involves one, which isn't helping the Otaku Image most people have. |

I remember this happening back in the 90s. One of the most famous ones was Tress MacNeille, voice of Babs Bunny The "World's Biggest Tiny Toon Fan" in the sketch, Night of the Living Dull, is based on Dennis Falk, an actual overly-obsessed fan the production team encountered while working on Tiny Toon Adventures. He was a stalker who sent Tress MacNeille disturbing letters which caused her to fear for life and cancel any convention appearances she was planning to make around where he lives. Today, there's some stories floating around about My Little Pony fans as well. |

Stalking is universal which I agreed. But it concerns me that Japan's law on stalking is not enforced unlike in the US and elsewhere outside of Japan (and South Korea). Azumi Asakura's stalking is very sad, but you haven't seen what K-pop idols got in South Korea, anybody familar with Sasaeng fans? These so-called fans makes Perfect Blue look pale. I apologize if I bring up South Korea in this one, but since you brought up stalking in other countries I guess it fair to throw in South Korea and their problem with sasaeng fans (they shouldn't be called fans). |
