Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what is the difference between "conceiving the original story" (Aka Akasaka) and "composing the series' story" (Aoi Kujira)?

Don't know if it's the case here but "original story" is often a credit for someone who came up with the basic idea or an outline and then hands it off to somebody else.

Hopefully he doesn't randomly decide to lose interest and axe it out of nowhere again

Considering how things ended with Oshi no Ko and Renai Daikou, maybe this is for the best.

I'm intrigued to see what Mengo Yokoyari does next. I LOVED Kuzu no Honkai so I'm hoping she comes back to storytelling in addition to art if that is something she still has a desire to do (whenever that may be).

And despite getting the shorter end of the stick, compared to OnK, Renai had a bit more of a satisfying ending, at least it had a proper closure. I don't know what to make of OnK's, to be honest, from my viewpoint, it was a proper downer ending: life goes on, but the underlying problems were never truly solved. I guess that's life for you. At this point I'm just glad it's over, it was obvious he had no fun writing it anymore.
Anyway, curious about this next project, I guess we'll never quit Aka's wild ride, after all.

Cool I'll likely be checking it out. Loved Kaguya-sama, although I'm anime only so don't know how it ends, and I also really enjoyed Oshi no Ko and didn't have any issues with the ending that other people seemed to.

If Aka's not doing the storyboarding, outlining, and so on, then maybe this one won't suffer a severe quality drop like Kaguya and OnK did (RenDai sucked from the start).
