At this point, I'm inclined to believe the Titans invaded for our fast food joints.

I'm so sick of seeing this sh!t. There are no limits to the things the people in marketing are willing to do. So what if these things violently decapitate people? Let's use 'em to sell fvckin' french fries!

That depends - if Lotteria's fries are like Sonic's, then this is the only possible way you'd ever sell so many. If they're more up to the quality of McDonald's, I imagine a number of people wouldn't care about the excuse and just order the bucket o' fries.

And they're naming it after Sasha, so it's a perfect match anyway.

This is a new phrase for me.

Their fries are good. Used to be better, but still the best I've ever had(outside of some from a restaurant in a country convenience store). I make no claims about anything else on the menu.

If we're talking strictly fast-food fries, my vote goes hands down to Burgerville's rosemary shoestring fries (Spring) and their sweet potato fries (fall).

I feel like selling fast food to kids is slightly more nefarious than fictional, skinless monsters decapitating people. I'm not saying I advocate decapitation, or don't love me some French fries, but if we're going to point fingers, in the grand scheme of things, there are greater harms in this scenario than worrying about glorifying decapitation.

I guess you're not a fan of these toys: animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2013-11-20/kaiyodo-releases-new-set-of-terrifying-capsule-q-attack-on-titan-figures

Also, Smashburger's fries are way better than McD's.

My worry wasn't them glorifying decapitation, it's that I hate the fact that they're using the titans to sell stuff. As a fan of the franchise, I'm bothered by the fact that something that the author designed as a threat to the existence of man is being used as such a shameless promotional tool. Imagine if Burger King used the White Walkers from A Song of Ice and Fire as a promotional tool and then dressed their mascot up as Eddard Stark.

Don't see what's wrong. As long as it sells, it's a good promotional. It's fictional.

Like some people said AoT is a mecha show. Titan = mecha. Some people have special mecha(spoiler[titans]). Unmanned mecha = spoiler[dumb titans]
AoT is about human vs human. Not mecha(titans) vs human.
What's wrong with using mecha to sell some fast food?

It's not that there's anything "wrong" with it, it just rubs me the wrong way because of how serious AoT is. I'd think that, because of its intense thematic elements, that it would be due more respect as a franchise. To me personally, these marketing campaigns belittle the entire series by taking these things that are supposed to be terrifying and making them a silly mascot. Of course, like you said, it's just fiction and obviously not everyone takes fiction and anime as seriously as others do, so there's no wrong or right here, just preference.

Yeah, there are even promos that use serial killers. Laughing

A bit too pricey, but anyway, here's a report: http://amiamiblog.com/amiamiblog/2014/3/26/titan-potato-party

It's a children's comic in Japan. This is basically just a Attack on Titan Happy Meal. No biggie Laughing
