Finally! I had all but given up on them until I got the Kickstarter update email yesterday. I've been upset (after all, they already got my money), but all will be forgiven when I get my book!

I've been nervously not trying to think about it too much, but I know a lot of people feel burned by this.

Publishing is a big endeavor, especially with this being a pretty ambitious project for a first-time publisher. I give these guys (this guy?) more slack than a lot of folks who are enraged by how this KS has gone, but even I have to admit it's not been great.

Kansai Club say they aren't making money on this one... Well, I hope they are at least coming close to even. If the book turns out as nice as they promise, I think we'll all be happy!

I feel bad for this team. I'm glad I finally got an update after 3 months and it will be coming out. But the chances of people backing them again on future projects would be in limbo I'd say.

Yeah, I feel bad for them too. But I like giving people the benefit of the doubt, and I'm sure they've learned from this experience--how to properly include shipping costs in the Kickstarted pledge levels, how long it takes to get a book published, printed and ready to ship, etc. If I'm happy with the book and they choose another manga that I'm interested in, I'd back 'em again.

I don't know if they really want to do more after this. It was probably just an experiment which at least worked out, but they had to go through a lot of hassle to make it happen.
