They are really banking hard on this being a megahit.

I'm hoping Wake Up! Girls really becomes a success. I'm having a feeling that the folks may have a bit gone overboard putting that much stake into the show...

Idol anime are pretty much a guaranteed hit.

And with the guy directing it being the one to generate the Hare Hare Yukai dance craze (and the one to save anime), it would have to be one utterly spectacular failure for it not to be a hit.

Personally, I was already gonna watch it with the initial voice cast announcement considering it'll have Emiri Katou, Minami Tsuda, and Yuka Ootsubo and I enjoy seeing the YRYR cast get more and more voice work. Adding Haruka Tomatsu certainly doesn't hurt either since I'm a Sphere fan as well.

One thing I'm going to watch for is whether the voice acting is done in one of the Touhoku dialects, especially the Sendai, Yamagata and Akita dialects....

Huh, I wonder if this'll be a hit like The IdolM@ster or a flop like Lovely Idol Lovedol... I guess only time will tell...
