If Mariska Hargitay gets to wear a maid uniform, I'd probably be all for it. Then again, the general quality of the show's writing leaves much to be desired, though I hear it's been getting better ever since Christopher Meloni left the show. |

It has its good moments, rarely, mostly when they're doing political stuff or other current events. All of their "filler sketches" are just awful. |

I was actually talking about SVU. Mentioning Elliot Stabler's actor by name should have been a tipoff. Now that you've brought it up, though, yeah, SNL's really taken a huge nosedive in quality over the last few years. |

Kerry Washington did a great job as host. I never saw Scandal, so it was interesting to see what everybody's raving about. SNL really should hire people of color more often. Not like they're based in a city where thousands of people from all races and ethnicities try to make it as performance artists...

French maid costumes were a popular worldwide fetish long before anime characters started wearing them, so why would anybody assume the cafe was anime related? The bit on SNL didn't mention it. Heck, why are Maid Cafes anime related? I assume its because they started in Akihabara around the time "maid" characters became popular, but being waited on by a maid (or butler) would probably appeal to a lot of people who aren't anime fans.
