Technically, you should be donating blood for anything.

Well, in the meantime you might want to consider donating blood plasma. For money, for anime cards and posters.

I usually donate for movie ticket vouchers. Those bags go for a few hundred dollars when hospitals add them to patient's bills, so a few bucks worth in compensated items should be nothing. The only reason that makes sense why they don't actually pay you for donating is to keep out the infected, homeless, druggies; anyone with unusable blood who would just want some quick cash.

IIRC, the Red Cross requires high school girls be 17 (16 with parental consent) and 110 lbs. to donate blood.

In 2009 at Winter Comiket, the Red Cross also had posters featuring Shinobu from Bakemonogatari. I found that amusingly ironic at the time.

I find it ironic given the "Vergießt Schweiß, aber kein Blut!" quote emblazoned on the back of the Kaba-san Team's StuG III. Vampires, on the other hand, seem perfectly appropriate.
