So do I, but why is Mercury always posed in weird knock-kneed positions? Is weird standing hot? Is it some moe trope I don't get like the striped panties?

Something about them looks off.
Mercury and Jupiter's poses look too 'bendy', especially in the legs, and I'm not sure about the facial expressions. I think it's the angry, opened mouthed expressions that are throwing me off. When they're posed in the show, they're smiling with a closed mouth. Yes, I'm fussy. |

They look off to me, too, and a lot of it is the faces. I think a lot is the difference between the clearly-painted-on-eyes with the sharp colors and lines, and the "soft" sculpting of the nose and mouth. If the nose were more defined, the mouth darker, and the eyes softer (and, preferably, slightly sculpted instead of flat), I think it would be better.

Completely and utterly off. Both their faces, and their bodies, and the postures, and the basic proportions. And the fact that their mouth is open at such a weird angle does not help. They look less like warriors for love and justice and more like amateur porn stars. S.H Figuarts are by far more superior, considering these don't even appear to move.

I agree that these look off. The back of Mercury especially looks freaky to me and her mouth is lopsided. These aren't that great to me.

Unfortunately when it comes to Bandai if the character isn't from Saint Seiya, One Piece or a series where they wear armor/a sentai suit there's a huge chance of their figures turning out mediocre. I'm actually surprised the Sailor Moon figarts have been pretty decent so far after what happened with Lelouch and Raidou over in the D-arts line.

I don't own anything Sailor Moon figure-related, so for $50, with the guardian/advisory cats (even if arguably not perfect) is a damn good deal! If I see this at any of the cons I'll be attending in 2014 I'll definitely grab it! I'll ofc get the FigurArts that're out too! I hope by the time I go to my cons Minako will be out so I could maybe get the whole set. xD
