I'm actually surprised that the Wii U has done so well. I was mocking it at first, as I did with the Vita, but apparently it looks like it was moving several thousand units this past week so I guess I was wrong again.

Oh dear, look at the 360 flop. As dan999 pointed out, I can see why Microsoft has made some of the decisions it has.

@ Vashna - I will continue to mock the Wii U, like I did with the Wii. (Not the the Wii didn't sell well, I just wasn't a fan.)

Owning stock, I'd feel safer if the Wii U could be outselling the PS3. Seems the Vita overall still isn't selling up to expectations neither:

Out of curiosity, enurtsol, are you saying you actually own stock or are you just speaking from the standpoint of speculation? I'm merely curious - I don't mean to needle you of course. I'd feel the same way if I were a shareholder, though I am not at all.

Friends and I own Nintendo stocks and so have more at stake here than us being fanboys. Smile

You can't be serious?

From Wikipedia

Quote:
The capital stock (or stock) of an incorporated business constitutes the equity stake of its owners. It represents the residual assets of the company that would be due to stockholders after discharge of all senior claims such as secured and unsecured debt. Stockholders' equity cannot be withdrawn from the company in a way that is intended to be detrimental to the company's creditors

If you and your friends "owned" stock, that would mean you have a stake in Nintendo. You don't mean this, do you? Confused

It's no biggie. We're no experts. Some people invest their extra money on expensive figures; we decided to invest it in stocks.

Usually when I hear of people investing in something it's not in something that's so well known. I'm actually really impressed. I generally hear of someone buying some shares of an unknown mineral or oil firm.
