That is just so sad. Last year I watched in a short period of time Kino, Lain and Ghost Hound and everytime he had such a deeply interesting vision that fit each of these shows. Very versatile guy. And he was supposed to Despera. Sad

Lain is one of my favorites and, if I had to pick one, Kino's Journey would be my all-time favorite anime series. Very sad to hear of his passing.

Oh man. I was actually just watching Ghost Hound.

So sad. He was a super talented guy and I'm a huge fan of his work. I didn't even know he was sick.

What a bummer, though I wasn't big fan of his to deny the influence his work had would be a very stupid deed.

That's really dreadful news. I had known from reading about Despera that he was ill, but I hadn't realized that it was cancer. I suppose that I should have suspected.

He was a remarkable director. Serial Experiments Lain is a fascinating, entrancing experience and Kino's Journey is one of my favorite series. It's second episode in particular is one of my favorite dramatic presentations of all time. This man actually made me cry tears of joy at that.

His is a genuine and deeply unfortunate loss.

I never would've guessed the director of Lain and Ghost Hound also happened to be the director of Sakura Wars. A real shame overall, but he did great works.

Really sad news. I've loved the titles he's directed. Especially Ghost Hound which I picked up on DVD only a year ago. Sad

Man, and I just re-watched Lain recently. The guy was talented. This reminds me, I should probably finish Kino's Journey soon.

Oh what a loss

I am really saddened by the fact I never got to meet him at a convention.

Oh my god. This is terrible news. I was a huge fan of Serial Experiments Lain and Kino's Journey and was looking forward to his forthcoming collaboration with ABe and Konaka. This is indeed a major loss. 58 is way too early to go.

R.I.P.

And now I might have to finally get around to Ghost Hound.
