Seeing how horrible this second season has turned out has made me dubious of any more episodes. I adored the first seasons, but this new one has just turned into the very thing they were kind of parodying to begin with.

Oreimo is self-aware but it is not, and never has been, a parody. Additionally, I think the second season of Oreimo has been very good so far.
Now Moetan and Weiß Survive are parodies. They subvert magical girl and shounen card game tropes at every turn and are quite funny.

I feel like a lot of people saying that aren't really familiar with the light novels. The very first volume dripped so much sexual tension between Kyosuke and Kirino the Kousaka's could have filed a flood insurance claim. It's been an imouto show from day one. I'm not really sure how folks ever got the impression it was anything else.

Because it had the chance to be good. But it didn't and became self-parody in how hilariously forced and contrived every goddamn event in it is. Every bit of this damn show is fake and hollow, starting with the sheer fact that Kirino isn't a girl, she's a male otaku in a girl's body. This show would be so much better if Kirino was actually a fujoshi since that wouldn't be so willing-suspension-of-disbelief-breaking.
Yes, I am still not over the fact that Kirino is a genderswapped male otaku.

Why do you hate bi girls, Chagen?

Kirino isn't Bi. I am bisexual myself. And Kirino flatlines my bi-dar.
Note: Bi-dars do not actually exist. But she still seems 100% straight to me

"She's not a girl, she's a man" is full of homophobia though....

No...no it isn't. I call her a man in a girl's body because she likes EVERYTHING that the most stereotypical male otaku would like. That is just breaking the willing suspension of disbelief for me. If she liked those things, but also liked stuff like otoge (you know, stuff explicitly aimed at a straight girl like her) and yaoi, or whatever the hell, I wouldn't mind as much.
But Kirino's tastes line up 100% with a male otaku's tastes. No deviations. That's just unrealistic.

Yep, she must be cause you know... all women who like women are really just "men". Cause ya know... lesbians don't exist.
Whitewash away the gay much, Chagen?

Except she doesn't "like women", she's straight, she wants to [expletive] screw her OWN BROTHER for christ's sake, this show can't make up it's goddamn mind.
Also, you do realize that I am a bisexual man who is like 70% gay? This is going to be TMI, but I just fapped to a shota yaoi anthology as well. I'm the last person to be "whitewashing the gay". Sheesh, you're not even LISTENING to what I'm saying.

Chagen, you being purportedly bisexual yourself does not make your statements any less homophobic.
Kirino is obsessed with galge and fantasizes about the heroines, yet also wants to have sex with her brother. That makes her bisexual, pure and simple.
I think you have a problem with anyone who doesn't fit into the neat little boxes you've made.

And Hitler couldn't be antisemitic cause he was Jewish, right?
Just being gay doesn't make you magically immune from being homophobic. And having desires for the opposite sex doesn't make you less bisexual.

I can't say I'm any different from those who felt as though this season end WAAAAAY off the deep end from Season 1, However I've felt as though I should have seen it comming. I saw the hints, they weren't that subtle, but I shrugged it off thinking "Nah, the show wouldn't go that far...would it?"
Now that its pretty much confirmed, I'm alot less mad about it. Sure I still kind of want to puke but I don't really have that big of sense of disappointment. That said however I just dropped the show and am now just browsing forums just to see the reactions.

It sure doesn't sound like you find it hilarious. It sounds like it pisses you off personally and you're barely trying to present yourself as above it and finding it stupid rather than being angry at it.
Anyway, doesn't she say she just likes imoutos for the moe aspect? I'm not a big fan of the series but when she was playing an H-scene and forgot Kyousuke was next door she was squealing with delight, not, you know, masturbating to it. She might have an unrealistically masculine otaku persona but she's also a regular - well, insofar as hypercompetent, beautiful and popular can be considered regular - teenage girl. I can't help but feel you're oversimplifying the show because it personally offends you.

Did it ever say she was bisexual? As far as I can see she's a straight girl with a moe fetish.
Regarding the show itself, I still find it pretty funny but I don't think it was ever that clever. Season 2's only been a slight drop for me because I found the romance slightly worse than the drama and angry speeches and transcontinental jaunts in the first season. I actually quite like the characters' interactions when they're in normal mode, less so when they're breaking up and moving town and having long, implausible conversations discussing their personalities in terms that sound like they're from the author's notebook rather than the mouths of people even slightly realistic - but then that's light novels, isn't it?
I think Kirino's dere side should be way more satisfying, considering how long she's been a total unremitting bitch. Like, I don't personally hate her because that's now how I view fictional characters but isn't there supposed to be a cathartic element from unlocking a tsundere's sweet side? If they were going to emphasise her tsun nature that much...
