*sigh*

Not a continuation but a reboot. Well, I'll still be looking forward to it.

Why does this need a reboot? The first time around it was only 12 episodes, so reboot it seems really silly to me. Anime dazed

Wouldn't the fans of this series rather have a continuation at this point? It's been a couple/few years....

Incorporates new story elements? Last time I checked a reboot cover old material, so unless the author went and made random manga chapters that take place in the first part of the story I don't see how they could incorporate anything new.

This is unfortunate but this is why will never see completed anime. Either a series makes it a few seasons and then is canned. Or they say lets reboot, and the reboot gets canned after one season and we end up with a show no further in progress than the first one.

They are going to incorporate elements, because some parts of manga were covered by first anime, and they are going to meet up with places that first anime hasn't covered. This decision makes sense, and I prefer it to rushing through episodes done in HxH.

Ryochimo (or timo?) directing this elevates it to "must see" status. The first series was okay, but it never once looked like this.

Because the first anime was not faithful to the manga. Anyway while the tv anime was just 'decent' the oads were pretty da*n awesome. So im really looking forward to this.

I don't get why everyone's not happy about it not being a continuation. They couldn't continue- It was very, VERY unfaithful to the manga, and not that great besides the character designs.

Sigh.

Which is why I'm disappointed that Ryo-timo will be returning. I don't need moe blobs for Yozakura characters. The characters are supposed to be sharper. Not blobby. Especially Hime, whose eyes are as sharp as knives.

I'm definitely in your camp. I think the story in this is pretty dumb, but man was the animation in Hoshi no Umi amazing!
