Oh GOD, not another Transformers anime.
Takara Tomy has been trying to turn Transformers into toddler-trash for the past 20 years, as their gag-dubs of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Animated and Prime have justly proven. I can't imagine this being any better. Honestly, the Transformers do best when they're serious, as Beast Wars and Prime have proven. Why haven't the Japanese caught onto this yet? |

I haven't watched any Transformers series since Beast Machines, and that was a mess. Should finish my rewatch of Beast Wars sometime...

As a fan of Transformers Prime I'm not against this. It's been almost ten years since the last Transformers anime series.
Depending on when this airs it'll be pretty crazy to have three separate Transformers series running at the same time. Prime still has that TV movie to close the series. |

Is Japan really getting a new series or just a dub of Beast Hunters?

Interesting, a new Transformers anime. Considering that we still got the Prime: Beast Hunters season airing with Rescue Bots S2 on the way, and China getting their own exclusive Transformers series as well.
I'm though, honestly intrigued on what they do with it. With them releasing the Beast Hunters, Predacons molds in this line. It would make a lot of sense to make the show a "monster-of-the-week" formula. Considering that to begin with, the Predacons already look like kaiju monsters. Also if they throw in some "Brave" elements, that could really help make this show much more interesting and awesome. Now let's hope that this series ends up at least as good as Car Robots (RID), and Galaxy Force (Cybertron), and not be a Superlink (Energon). |

Saying China is getting their own series is a bit misleading isn't it? You're referring to the talent search show for the live action movie, right?

No, this is totally unrelated to the fourth movie (... so far). This was announced by Hasbro all the way back at NY Toy Fair 2013. Last edited by Junktheguild on Wed Apr 24, 2013 2:29 am; edited 1 time in total |

Oh wow, I had never heard about that, and assumed you meant this. It's pretty crazy to think we could have four separate animated Transformers shows on the air at the same time. |

Because it's definitely not a kiddy franchise to begin with or anything.
Prime was cancelled in Japan, so unless they dub it later, it's over. Anyway, I'm not really a Transformers fan, but my favorite series was probably Micron Legend. I might check this out and see how it is. Animated's focus on human characters was awful and Prime was in terrible looking CG. Hopefully it's better than those last two series were. |

Better "toddler-trash" then be Kiss Players any day.
I'd say more so just to sell toys. |

OH THANK GOD ALMIGHTY!!
I'm looking forward to this. Transformers has been crap since Galaxy Force ended. Michael Bay's jerk-off version with monstrous piles of junk for robots Animated's overly kiddy look Prime's combination of the 2 The only thing good that came out since then were the War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games. Even though I found Galaxy Force enjoyable, I do hope the robots are cel-animated this time. And I hope they don't opt for cheap fight scenes like half of Armada. By the way, how come the Unicron Trilogy were not mentioned in the article? Last edited by TopGunman on Wed Apr 24, 2013 12:33 pm; edited 2 times in total |

The only downside here to me is that they're using the hunter designs. The new ones made for Go! specifically look fantastic - would have loved to see an entire line on the drastically more Brave-like aesthetic.

Same here. Transformers Prime is the only Transformers series since the original I've ever really watched on a regular basis. But I remember liking Transformers: Cybertron, but that was a long time ago, so I definitely wouldn't mind another TF anime series. |
