If their excuse is the exchange rate shouldn't that mean they should cut the price DRASTICALLY in Australia!
Which when on special might get as low as US$250 but normal price is well over US$300. |

they can the "the Australia Tax" and the market is very small, so the cost of setting up shops there is much higher per customer Companies also want to pass the gov't, local tax to the customers. Some companies use this reason to increase the price to unreasonably high. Vita is not one of them. http://www.theage.com.au/technology/technology-news/it-giants-in-price-probe-20120428-1xs16.html |

Considering the PSP wasn't exactly popular over here, yeah, I think they have. I'll just get mine over here at a price cut... |

Given a lot of the more popular/best games for the PSP/Vita are anime or anime-esque ones, that's not too surprising. The best selling game on the PSP in Japan never even came out in America, let alone other top selling ones in Japan. Too much of a difference in gamers it seems. |

lol, fools.
no one was really buying them anyway, and now you are basically telling people there is no reason to buy it? w maybe if sony employees read a newspaper they would know the Yen exchange rate evened out last month. I do hope the japanese people feel better about saving 20$ knowing they are paying the same price as us now. Maybe that will stop reverse importation of the PSvita. |

Exchange rate? If the new Japanese PM is successful in his currency war policy then the standard 100 Yen will be well below parity with the US Dollar before too long.
So, we will get a price cut then? Sony seems to have a bad case of "bad timing" disease. Mark Gosdin |

I can show you the middle finger just as easily as well!
And sonly tells and people believe that the reason no one buys software or Sony consoles flop is because other supposed "issues"... when this kind of attitude and incompetent decisions have been the culprit since Ken Kutaragi was forced to step down. |

I really wonder sometimes what people expect from this 'price cuts'.
I mean... the current price of the portable is $250, and a price cut would lower it at most... what? to $200? Well here's the thing... I got a Vita from Amazon, during Black Friday, at $185 with 2 games (Assansin's Creed 3 and Playstation All-Stars) and a 4gb memory card. If anyone wanted a Vita, they would have taken advantage of the multiple bundles that have come out. Specially with offers like Black Friday (don't know if Christmas had promotions online). A price cut would not help in any way... if people didn't get the Vita at 185, like I did, they will surely won't get it at a price cut to 200 either. I don't know if Sony cares, and frankly I don't care if they care either... but at least I got my Vita cheap, with 2 games for free, and am enjoying the hell out of it thanks to Persona 4 Golden. |

Its pretty much like the 360 in Japan, just less dire. PSP had to have something like only 20% of its lineup actually released in America... that was a system you had to understand Japanese to fully enjoy. I just hope some companies like NISA, Xseed and other translation companies will make the Vita playable over here. |

I'm fine with the Vita. As long as we get a solid lineup of translated Japanese games, I'm cool.
Also, since the Vita has much better graphics than the 3DS, it'll probably have more racing games on it, which is totally fine by me. |

Actually, the PSP sold well in the US, by selling well over 17 million PSPs as of 2010(NOTE as of 2010) and the PS Vita sold over 160,000 copies during Black Friday weekend. Last edited by DomonX2 on Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:59 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Of course they'll not cut the price.
That would allow people to buy the damn thing. |

In that case I will formally announce that Sony will not be getting me as a customer for the next "x" amount of years until the price cut is made in NA. The vita is a major fail with no games. They should try to attract customers--instead of making idiotic decisions like these and losing potential sales (like they did with me for example) :/ |
