Oh, dear. I actually enjoyed most of Kanan Minami's Kyō, Koi o Hajimemasu (despite disliking all her other series I've tried), so I had been hoping her next title would be a little less risqué. A 16-year-old getting married is the main premise, though? Yeaaah...I don't have high hopes for this one.
(I know, I know. She's known for her smutty manga, so why should I have had high expectations?)
It would be nice at least if Kanan Minami could have the love interest not be a jerk for once. Bonus points if the heroine can never be described as a doormat.

+1. I tried reading Kyo Koi o Hajimemasu and I couldn't even get past 3 chapters. The guy was such a jerk and the girl was such a helpless girl.
I usually have high tolerance for shoujo manga but I didn't have much for that one.
And don't even get me started on HoneyXHoney Drops. Yet, Kyo Koi was somewhat of a success in Japan. I will never be able to understand why.

Oh my God. Another one of these. Lady do a quick google search, and you find out there are such endearing titles as My wife is a high schooler, and I think there is my wife is a middle schooler? There are heaps and heaps of this type of series. Harem and Shoujo, the two genres where you dont have to see and most people can pretty much guess 95% of the plot.

Well.,I don't agree with you there. Not all shoujo are like that. Joou no Hana, Orange, Ao Haru Ride, Horimiya and Kamisama Hajimemashita to name a few are really good.
Its the same in all genres. There are good ones and there are bad ones. It isn't restricted to harem and shoujo alone.
But for some reason, the cliche ones are usually more well-known that the good ones. Don't ask why. But Kyo Koi o Hajimemasu was a hit in Japan. :/ Again, I don't know how.
