As long as the extras are not exclusive to the complete set like with ReBoot, i have no problem passing on this and buying the volume sets.
EDIT: Dammit, i'm looking at Time Life's complete sets of The Real Ghostbusters (25 Discs) & The Six Million Dollar Man (40 Discs) and both did contain bonus discs with exclusive extras so this means that the same will be done here since both companies have done this before and the price may be the same as the Six Million Dollar Man set ($240). EDIT 2: & Brian Ward from Shout! has confirmed it!
Well, there goes all of my birthday present money. Last edited by NJ_ on Wed May 09, 2012 3:35 pm; edited 4 times in total |

....Why are only that number of episodes being split over 40 discs? I know separately, small episode volumes work best for parent's buying for the children, but still!

I *want* this. This would be *perfect* for my nostalgia collection. I stopped watching Power Rangers after Lost Galaxy, which was the last season to officially tie into all the previous seasons (Dino Thunder with Tommy aside), so having the collection go up to there is exactly what I would want.
My *only* complaint is that I do wish this article said whether or not Seasons 2-7 would be available individually as Season 1 is... I can be patient and buy them in the smaller individual sets...but only if I know I'll eventually be able to get them all. ::dances off into nostalgia:: |

Shout Factory has the rights to MMPR through Power Rangers RPM, and have been talking about the (eventual) DVD releases at Rangerboard. So they intend to put them all out at some point. Though I haven't heard much, it could potentially be in mega-sets like this. All I know is, I'm gonna start saving up for the 40-disc one. That's AWESOME.

That's interesting. All the past "Power Rangers" seasons in one collection. I'll be honest here. I wasn't a big fan of "Power Rangers Lost Galaxy." Didn't like it too much. And "Power Rangers Samurai?" I thought it followed the original series a bit too much for my tastes. What they could have done is that the Japanese rangers gave a copy of their powers to some worthy Americans to use when they found out that the Nighlok were now invading America.
All in all,I don't think that's a bad thing and I hope it's successful. |

My Power Rangers' nostalgia has vanished quite a bit with the re-issued version from a couple of years ago. The "extras" were awful (comic-book bubbles?!) and seeing the show years later made me realize that my mom was right all along : that show was pretty stupid.
That being said, these DVDs are already sold for me. I only care about the original Rangers seasons. I think I stopped watching at Zeo, if that was the season where they changed the masks to wacky shapes like stars and rectangles....anyway, it was the season after Ninjor and Rito Repulso. So let's hope that the 60 episodes cover most of the good stuff. |

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is 3 seasons long with 155 episodes (145 if you don't want to count the Alien Rangers episodes) so there are a few more sets to get if you're looking to only buy the original series. |

I'd like to see Discotek license the original super sentai.
Otherwise i'll watch the shows on Instant Netflix where I can easily skip filler (which happens to be a LOT from the first 5 seasons, Turbo especially) |

Shout! Factory is also offering a complete Season One 6-DVD set and the 40-DVD collection of Power Rangers: Seasons One - Seven through Time Life's mail-order/online service, starting on July 30.
I can't wait to see the infomercial for this one. |

This sounds so awesome. I don't know that I would really want to get the entire 40 DVD set because some of the seasons don't interest me as much as others but I would love to have MMPR, Space, and Time Force. I've been watching episodes a bit recently and I have to admit the show has actually aged pretty well. Sure, it's cheesy as hell but it's the right sort of cheesy fun!
