Yet another boring generic all-female anime devoid of personality or artistic merit.

While it is yet another anime filled with girls, I wouldn't necessarily say it's unoriginal or that the characters don't have any personality.

If this series is similar to the first, it won't be driven by fanservice (the most you might see is short skirts and legs), there will actually be some kind of basic plot (not just a "another" slice-of-life), and the characters will actually have some depth to them. And of course, there's mahjong, which is not something you'd usually see in a generic more anime.

While the first series clearly had a limited budget due to financial issues at Gonzo, the interactions between all the characters held the show together pretty well.

Sticks belong on the ground, not up your ass.

I feel a little better this troll won't starve today.

On topic:
I'm bittersweet on this news. I'm glad there's something being released with the story but I'm bitter they didn't finish what they started. Now I'll never know if Saki ends up spoiler[going head-to-head with her sister, kicking her ass, and finally earning respect in the game].

I will have to say the art in this looks better than the "See what I can do in Photoshop", which is both pleasing and makes Chagen46's opinion inaccurate.

Whether or not it's boring to the viewer is whether or not the over-the-top mahjong scenes can excite them or not. Personally, I quite enjoyed the first season of Saki. It had a really great mix between moe SoL and sports tournament shounen.

Anyway, considering the same staff (under a new name) is doing Achiga-hen, I can't wait for it. Should be a real treat for us Saki fans. Will be cool to finally get a look (more than the last few minutes of the Saki finale) at Nationals.
