If it looks as good as Casshern Sins then i'll definitely have a peek just for the pure eyecandy. That show was simply beautiful and the fight scenes were a joy to watch. Speaking of Casshern Sins, that character in the top middle looks an aweful lot like Casshern.

Do we know what animation studio is producing it? The director leads me to believe Toei but recent Seiya projects say otherwise.

It's interesting that they hired Umakoshi to do the character designs, considering that one of his more recent projects, Casshern Sins, was directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi and starred Tohru Furuya, both of whom were unceremoniously ousted from the Saint Seiya franchise. I wonder who will write the music.

The official site is hosted by Toei, so that detail seems settled.
From what I gather this is an original project, not a manga adaptation. Hopefully they make the most of that creative freedom.

wow this is a surprised heck i thought we weren't gonna get any more saint seiya anime that isn't cgi or based off the spin off for last canvas. either way this is awesome news though hopfully the original creator is at least somewhat involved with this.

The day they took Tohru Furuya from the role of Seiya, he no longer exists for me in the Saint Seiya universe anymore.
Oh well, at least this one will naturally feature new characters/cast like Canvas. I mean it doesn't feature the original Saints...right ?

Going by that picture, it looks like the dragon and phoenix saints will actually appear this time.

That brings up an interesting point, can you really call this series Saint Seiya , if Seiya isn't at all in the show? Not sure what they would call it otherwise if not Saint Seiya, but kind of hilarious to have a series named after a character, only to no longer have the character a part of the show.

According to Mainichi Shimbun's Mantan Web site, Seiya does appear in the first episode, but the site doesn't say how long his appearance is. (See the updated article.)

Looks interesting and I do enjoy Saint Seiya. Just wished CN didn't took it off the air before it got really really interesting. Wonder if we'll see the old characters again...Wait, I thought female warriors wear masks.
