New Dragon Ball anime? Wow, that's pretty neat.

I'm hesitant about what it's about, though. I think exploring Goku's father removes some of the mystique of the show. We don't know much about Bardock (outside the TV special), and we don't need to.

I'd be interested if they show Goku's mother.

spoiler[I don't like that Bardock becomes a Super Saiyan in the manga this is based off, though.]

Another cash-in for Funimation, it looks like.

Thats random. But Toei loves to cash-in on the franchise.

I didn;t care much for the manga, but I'll still watch this.

I doubt it'll be a whole TV series though. I expect more of a TV special.

Sweet! I look forward to it. Hopefully if this does well, they'll reanimate the whole series.

If they're really looking to do more DBZ anime, there's an entire Buu arc just waiting to be Kai'd.

The Buu arc needed a Kai more than any other. Seemed 50 episodes too long to me; I was banging my head against a wall by the end of it.

It'll be interesting to see someone else's take on DBZ. Though I suppose all the filler and all the awful movies were also other peoples' take on it... Eh, I'll give it a chance... Nothing can be worse than the final two Broli movies.

I think that the newer dragon ball z are getting lame from the Americans making the anime. I think that the old anime of dragon ball is better because they don't have all the newer anime and the Japanese anime are mostly hand drawn and not computer generated. Most of Americas anime such as dragon ball are mostly computer generated but some times it is hand drawn. So that is what I think.

The only "American"-produced media for the franchise has been the live-action DragonBall Evolution in 2009.

The TV series, the movies, the specials, the spin-off manga, Kai, and all of this upcoming stuff are all Japanese in origin. It's largely the same staff at Shueisha and Toei that it has always been, minus additional involvement from Akira Toriyama himself other than a few sign-offs here and there, and maybe some title ideas.

I just lost brain cells trying to comprehend this.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Hey, I liked the crap loads of filler in the Buu arc! Seriously, though, other than the nostalgic factor, and the awesome Bruce Faulconer BGM scores, seasons 7-9 were stretched to the max. They really should Kai them. And the latest special(ONA) was pretty forgettable.

It's always a treat to get more DB, though.

Haha I'm hype, but the 3 part mini series was so cheese, and the worst part is it seemed like the author didn't know they were only being asked to do 3 chapters.

Awesome. Hopefully both this and the manga original will be released in North America.
