After the massive let down of Dragon Age 2, this might not bode well.
Not that I ever like Dragon Age to begin with, but people I know who do seem to say the second game 'killed it'.
Didn't know this was going to be CG though.. and not based on the game. That's a bit disappointing. I think Trinity Soul showed that people want video game shows to be about the game and not a side story.

As big of a Dragon Age fanboy that I am, even going so far as "liking" Dragon Age 2, this trailer just looks sad.

Yeah, I really can't see how that's a good idea, especially with a mediocre trailer (with even worse narration) like that. I also thought it was going to be, you know... actual anime, not CGI. Well, not that I particularly care about this.

Whoa Bioware, you said it was anime but instead it's just a cgi movie.

I wonder how much money they pay on bribes to the Japanese theaters to allow to show this piece of crap.

They seem to classify CG as anime as long as a Japanese staff is involved (i.e. Vexille, which was done by the same director).
By and large, I think the industry also tracks Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children as an anime production.

I don't see why not. I've always called those movies anime. Animation from Japan, after all. Same with Biohazard Degeneration.
The only difference here that would make a difference is Bioware/Funi's involvement. I wouldn't call this anime because it's just another "American companies funds a Japanese company to animate their script so they can call it anime and be cool" incident that have popped up over the years. Not that'd I'd mind if it ended up being good (like.. a proper Mass Effect adaption and not a side story of Dragon Age, cough)

I'm a huge fan of Dragon Age (Not so much the second sadly...) so when I saw this listed on the news page I was eager to look at it...
Yeah my bubble has been burst. Very disappointed it's CGI and not story related (Pretty much like crappy DA:2 , but w.e. that's another story xD) but hey I'm hoping that any money they make on anything DA related they might use to make a fan-worthy DA3... If they don't just quit while they're behind.
The voice over reminds me of a voice over someone might use as a joke on one of those fake trailers you see on you tube xD

Why would anyone think an adaption of Dragon Age Origins would be better than a side story. A movie adaption would choose the human noble, montage the journey to use the treaties to gather an army, than go straight to the endgame, streamlining it so bad just to fit the time retraint. I would perfer a sidestory that adds to the mythology, rather than a cheap version of a story that I could always play a superior and more personalised version in the game.
P.S. Same with Mass Effect

Who has said they wanted a full movie about Origins? I don't see any response of that sort in this thread.
The movie could have been more about the main character or characters in DA2 since most of them are all well defined. The only differences for people that played the game would be Hawke being cast as man or woman and the sort of powers that are used but even then that decision was made as canon Hawke is a male mage.
I am not really casting my vote about this movie since the trailer was a dragon and couple a release date.

Argh, my eyes (and ears) are bleeding!
I looked forward to the movie, but if this is footage from the movie then this is just ridiculous.
