It does suck really bad, but I knew this was coming -_- I was extremely looking forward to it but knowing Funimation's delaying habit it's not a surprise to me.

Just saw the behind-the-scenes trailer. So... uhh... is it just me, or does the finished concept art-- at least, the facial concept art-- look awfully CG? It comes across as high quality cel-shading so far, mind you, but still CG nonetheless.

Is this going to be a cel-shaded CG movie a la Appleseed, then?[/b]

I thought this was FUNimation's first co-production:

@GordanHam I think FUNimation is just distributing it, not producing.

Fumihiko Sori is going to be the director. He was part of the production staff for Appleseed, and also directed Vexille and TO.

The production house, T.O. Entertainment, only has half-a-dozen anime series under its belt. I'm a bit surprised a property like this isn't being produced by Madhouse or a similarly large, experienced studio.

Made for DVD (Blu-ray?) in the US, but a theatrical run in Japan? I thought US-styled RPGs from companies like Bioware didn't fare so well in Japan. Wouldn't it make more sense to show it in theaters in the US? It's not like it doesn't have a pre-existing audience.

"Dawn of the Seeker" suggests that the story is set before Origins. Maybe it will cover the enslavement of the Elven? It's a bit tough to figure what it will be about from just the artwork.

Oh, and I don't recall the dragons in the game attacking populated areas like some of the artwork portrays. Mostly they're living in caverns and only attack when humans disturb their peace. (I haven't played Origins for some time now, so I might have forgotten some parts of it. I'm still trying to survive the next-to-last battle in Dragon Age 2 without wimping out and using "casual" mode.)
