Fah, I'm sure your definition of "screwing up" would include this:

-On screen flashcard has the word cow under a picture of one.
-Narrator comes on and says, "The dog goes 'Woof!'"

When really he is just teaching them two different things at the same time. Brilliant!

I don't think even Kahn could mess up this company up. Considering their shows are geared at kids and only kids, I don't see how it would be possible for him to mess this opportunity up.

It's likely after this might be the last time we ever hear of Al Kahn ever again. He might have a say about what eventually happens to 4kids, but to be honest, I doubt he will really care given he no longer is any way affiliated with 4kids anymore.

Somewhat like Stu Levy, after Tokyo Pop (the US branch) closed down, we have yet to hear any news at all about him.

And hopefully, it stays that way. But, I wouldn't put money on it. The guy was abit of an attention whore, so......

IIRC that Baby Genius stuff has already been outed as BS by people who know what they're talking about, so he's probably right in his element and if something is BS to begin with it's hard to make it worse.

EDIT:
yeah, found an article, according to that, those Baby Genius videos actually cause kids to do 10% worse.

Finally, Al Khan has a job where his skills of pretending to make things better by making them worse and dumbing things down until a two-year-old can understand them are actually assets. Best of luck to him far, far away from anime.

oxymorons? there's only morons involved in this, as we all know about Al Kahn, and the fact that people think sitting their babies in front of a TV for hours is an actual valid substitute for working with your kid yourself if you want them to develop mentally faster and that there's people that market such a BS product AND lazy and/or gullible parents who buy it make it morons all around.

It is not a bad idea if you are using it as a supplement to working with the kid yourself, so I wouldn't say it is a BS unless you think that is the only thing you need to do.

considering that it's marketed as something you just need to plop your babies in front of for hours a day (with the implication it gives you a little more free time as well) and it's been scientifically proven not to work I have to stand by my statement.

While that may be true, he will forever have to deal with the fact he worked for 4kids for over a decade. So while he now has a better job, it took him over a decade to get one.

Frankly, I wouldn't want working for 4kids on my resume, at least not now and days.

I truly hope the company he works for does well for the sake of anime and it's fans. Hopefully he will even forget about anime entirely in case Pacific Entertainment goes bankrupt or something similar to that.
